This has been a good week. I was on the bar Monday and Tuesday, day off today, breakfast tomorrow at the mellow-hotel, then bar again. Then the horrors of Sunday morning breakfast shift with the supervisor who cannot handle stress but at least I have fewer breakfasts than last week where I had four of the buggers.
I need to speak to my manager however, yet again to moan on about something. This time though it is because, on finally getting round to checking my payslips I've discovered I haven't been getting paid for any of the overtime I've been forced to work. Now seeing as my supervisors make me stay later than I want to, I think its not unreasonable to get paid for them. Though as the management has taken to calculating our salaries from rota'd hours rather than from clock-in times I suspect they don't know that I work 3+ hours overtime a week. So I need to speak to them about it and either get paid, or be able to tell the supervisors to push off and do the polishing themselves.
Speaking of polishing we now have a slightly better working washing machine. This is because the kitchen porter took pity on me as I polish most of the time, and bought Fairy Liquid, not because the hotel bought anything. Now we have rinse-aid, we have detergent...but we don't have the soap flakes that are apparently also essential if we want the machine to actually work. So things are still dirty, even though the Fairy Liquid does improve matters. Its not really meant for industrial dishwashers though.
We are now serving tapas in our bar, I managed to flog a fair bit of it yesterday, though I've persuaded the head chef to move the times when we make it available so as to get the after-dinner nibblers rather than those who nibble and then don't eat. The head chef is quite amenable to being told things like that, which is nice. Its especially good as I'm intending to tell him that he's made spelling mistakes in some of his advertising material, and if I'm feeling daring, I may also point out that the construction of his sentences makes it rather obvious that he is not a native English-speaker. Really, all he needs is a proof-reader.
Aside from working, I've not really been doing a great deal. I'm feeling better, which is good, and which I put down to not working with those who infuriate me so much but mostly to making damn sure I don't miss a dose of my medication. Though I am still experiencing a range of mood-swings which, if they continue, I'm going to tell my GP about when I see him in September and ask to be put back on the mood stabilisers. On Friday I have to see an Occupational Health Physician, I do not know why. Kerry hasn't got to see one, so maybe its about the illness, but hopefully its just about vaccinations. In any case I know my GP has said I'm perfectly fit to work now and in the future in radiography so I doubt I'm in danger of losing my place or anything.
Thats about it. I forget the things that happen during the day by the weekly (if you're lucky) times I get to update this thing, alas. Expect proper entries once I get to university (16th September).
