Afterwards, though, I bumped into two of the people who were on my induction course back in December which made me feel like I actually know people who live near me for once. Ahmed has a job at a grocer's, and Sabrina was just going to sign on herself with her mother, and is also being sent on the same thing on Monday so I'll at least know one person. Which reminds me, I am puzzled by this girl - both of her natural parents are black, and yet she's white...how can that be? Even if her parents were both mixed-race it would be pretty unusual! I don't like to mention it to her though.
Anyway. After that I went to take my library books back and got out one vacuous "women's novel" which I will probably enjoy in a guilty sort of way and an Inspector Wycliffe crime story. Which should be ok. Aside from that I've decided to re-read Lost Souls and then maybe actually finish Drawing Blood this time, as I've left it so long since I took a break from reading that I've forgotten the plotline.
Biology tonight was reasonably ok. We're still discussing genetics, though in a very superficial way I'm sure. We were talking about the length of our fingers and widows peaks and one poor guy walked off convinced that he has women's fingers - as said guy is a former champion bodybuilder, I don't think he was terribly impressed! Then we did crossing pea plant theory things which was apparently supposed to be hard but I don't think anyone actually found it so. I handed in my assignments which means NO MORE BIOLOGY HOMEWORK ever, though I am now feeling guilty because I haven't done my final assignment for Physics.
And now I am just lolling about waiting for my bus before heading home. Dad is coming home tonight as well - he's been in Aberdeen - and taking the day off tomorrow which means I'll have the house to myself before going off to learn about quantum physics.
