Pieces of Good News

Its snowing, and I just went outside to see whether the Tower looked all pretty with the snow...but sadly it did not, due to the ever-present miasma in this area. Its bloody freezing though.
Parents are going away tomorrow (cue happy dance). Well I say they're both going, mum is going up north to the other house and dad is heading off to Moscow for a week, then Houston. Which means I get the house to myself as Shirley can't come. Though I suspect I won't be doing an awful lot of lazing about as I have a huge amount of work for my course to catch up on. I've got to write up my portfolio, write up a practical and finish my assignment for Tuesday, and as I am no longer in the habit of studying properly, its going to be a bit of a pain.
I do have some exciting news though - we're getting a dog! Mum has wanted one for a while (ever since meeting Shirley's little dog) and she's written to the council and they've said we can have one so long as it is a small dog and doesn't bark much. Which was what we wanted anyway. We're now trying to decide between getting a King Charles cavalier spaniel, a westie or a yorkshire terrier. My vote is for a westie I think, though I don't really mind so long as we get a nice dog with a good disposition. It'll be fun to have a companion too, and it won't get lonely because mum is in the house all day, and I can walk it when I go for my walks, which will probably also make me slightly fitter. Mum's going to have a look when she's up north and see if she can find a good breeder.
So thats exciting!
And on checking my emails tonight I've just found that the ringmaster of one of the webrings I am a member of wants to know whether I would like to host my site on her webspace. From the sounds of it, for free, no ads, with email, all because she wants to highlight SI. So I've got to decide if I want to do this, because if I accept her very kind offer then I'll revamp both the Catharsasis (which I can no longer even spell) site and the Drear Oblivion one, mould them into two and try to make them interesting. Means a fair bit of work though. Guess I'll have to think about it for a while.
