Slipppers Are Such Exciting Things

Well today I managed to buy my dad a birthday present. Unfortunately I ended up buying him two ties (one yellow, one blue) which is not exactly an exciting present. Mum bought him slippers, which is even less exciting. Though she's also getting him doe-skin gloves with a silk lining (which is a bit decadent). Still he should be happy, and he knows he is terrible to buy for anyway.

This meant a fair bit of wandering around the city fingering menswear. Why is it that the men's departments sell toys as gifts but the women's ones sell things like vases? I'd rather have a frisbee than a rose.

I also got some of my "lower-class magazines" and some pen cartridges. Exciting, huh. Well at least I did not have to pay for them myself, that makes it fairly exciting for me.

Since I got back (after a slight diversion to the pub) I've been doing nothing much. I was going to watch A Touch of Frost but David Jason gets on my nerves and I just couldn't be bothered. So I've been online doing nothing very much and wasting enormous amounts of time. And now I am going to create a couple of mp3s (I finally found a good program for that) and go play Grand Theft Auto.
