Today I had the delights of Employment Solutions again. Apparently they are being assessed by OFSTED (not that that means we the clients get a look in, or at least I am not). Boring as ever. Had a nice chat with Peter, the guy who takes the induction class though.
Afterwards I went off to the pub as normal. I've started a new book, Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z Brite. Never quite sure about novels about England written by American authors, but seems to be going ok. I've only just started it (I had to take a break - I was eating). So far, seems to be a thinly disguised portrait of Dennis Nilsen. Which is not so bad, I was reading one of her short stories about Dahmer, I think it was, the other day and she does it quite well. So I'm seeing what happens with this, I've hardly got into the story at all yet. But I quite like her now I've actually discovered she is not an author for teenagers!
Not much more to tell, really. My dad rang up in a state of some excitement to say that the conference he was at was giving away leatherette bags and did I want one. He rhapsodised in a slightly disturbing fashion about the texture of the bags...eventually I said to get one just to stop him being worrying about it. It is quite nice though.
Speaking of my dad, its his birthday on Saturday and I have to think of something to buy him. Aside from shell-shaped chocolate which is his favourite, but not exactly exciting. However I think he will probably end up with slippers. Which is rather sad.
