The Good News Travelled From Post to Net

2005-01-26 at 2:45 p.m.

I am freezing, but have interesting news.

Firstly, last night was biology, which was generally boring. We did, however, get our tests back and I got 68%. Maybe not the greatest result (though I should point out that in divinity that would have been a 1st) but it was only two percent off a distinction so hardly something to complain about. Everyone else got more or less the same (except one person we now hate who got 98.5%).

I got into the city too early yesterday and found myself browsing in that Christian shop, CLC, in Holborn to kill time. It really is a strange shop, not because its a Christian shop (I've been in enough), its the way it manages to mix fuzzy-wuzzy evangelical and hard-core fundamentalist without apparently noticing. I saw books which went on about how women cannot become ministers and must be silent...and books which argued that the church will die if they don't, side by side. Some of their stuff looks ok, though others are sort of strange.

Anyway, that is a digression, I haven't actually got onto my news yet. You see the reason I am awake, coherent and on the computer today rather than waking at three and having to leg it out of the door to get to college on time is...I've been made an offer by South Bank. They've given me a conditional offer - weirdly, conditional on my getting a reference from Birkbeck, not on my passing my course. That means I don't need to worry about getting a distinction, or even passing the course as a whole, they don't care. So I'm taking the reference form up today. Of course I still haven't decided if I want to do radiography but its not like term starts right away, I have until September to decide. I've emailed one of my interviewers to ask for a looksee around St Thomas' to see what it is like.

So, good news. And now I go to celebrate with a physics exam, yippee.
