Werden wir uns noch wiedersehen?

2004-12-20 at 1:50 a.m.

If I had a life, I would write an entertaining and witty diary entry that would be remembered here.

However, as I have spent the day reading "lower-class magazines" in the local hotel while drinking overpriced Coke and am now sitting around listening to Lily Marlene and contemplating watching those DVDs yet again, this is not perhaps as interesting to another as I might have hoped.

Tomorrow I am going to town, to buy my dad some praline chocolates. He likes these very much, and will probably eat them all on Christmas day and then complain for weeks that he a) feels sick and b) has no chocolate. But this is normal. I'm just hoping he likes the book about men and their sheds that I have bought him. Obviously I have bought him more than just that - he's getting the biography of P G Wodehouse as well. Mum is getting a CD of the Dubliners and a couple of amusing books the title of which I forget. As for myself I know I am getting GTA: San Andreas because I hinted obviously enough that I will be seriously miffed if that hint is not taken up. Someone is bound to get me a jumper anyway though, even though I don't like them, don't fit my family's idea of my dress size and it will surely be yellow, a colour which makes me look rather unwell. Still doubtless my nana - who will probably buy me the unpleasant sick-coloured jumper - will get it from Marks&Spencer so I can take it back. And maybe buy a watch!

Actually, on the watch front my dad should be going back to Russia sometime or other and I'm hoping he can get me a watch from there. You see, the first time he went to Russia was before the USSR collapsed and he came back with a big red watch with Cyrillic letters rather than numbers and a hammer and sickle on it. I was the envy of the school as no one else had a communist watch (and could sing the red flag and the internationale to boot, but thats my family for you). Unfortunately it was a very cheap watch and it cracked, though I still have it. I'm hoping dad can find something similar - though hopefully a wee bit better built the next time he is over there.

Thats about it. Oh but while I remember - I have (under a new pen-name of wieland) started a new venture. A public diary (i.e. all and sundry can post in it) called ePoets so people can put poetry on it. Doubtless 99.9% of this poetry will be terrible, but I still think it is worthwhile. Particularly as I have to do no more work than I already have done on this. So if anyone out there reads this, toddle over, as a favour to me, would you?
