Anyway, I bought a couple of DVD packages - a CSI one and the first two seasons of Allo Allo. I've been watching Allo Allo having decided to try out the playstation for playing DVDs on and have been enjoying myself very much as a result. I had forgotten how much I liked that programme and now I'm going to have to buy seasons 3 & 4 which I note are out now.
Aside from watching way too much telly, I haven't been doing anything particularly exciting. We had a long, long lecture in biology which was not terribly exciting though I did get the change to meet Suzy No 2 from the maths course I did way back before this real course started, as she could not make her normal Thursday class. Then we had a problem solving class in physics in which I managed to aquit myself rather well. Aside from getting the problems wrong, that is.
I got a letter from City University inviting me to an interview on the 17th, though I've turned down that take and arranged to have the 28th January instead as they want me to have spent at least a day in a hospital before I go. Fortunately, lovely folk that they are they have given me an email address of their own department to arrange to be shown round to fulfil their requirements. This is just as well as Barts have just told me I have no chance of getting work experience before my South Bank interview, and I am now having to try to arrange work experience up in the North-East as I know someone working for the NHS up there. Hopefully she will get something or I can use this one day thing that City are offering to fulfil the requirements otherwise I'm sunk.
The stuff at Employment Solutions was reasonably ok - just filling out forms and looking for jobs in my usual way, except in a rather noisy room with not enough writing space in Tower Hamlets. But they pay for the stamps. So all to the good. Plus I just got my New Deal Railcard thingy, which now gives me child fare when I go travelling anywhere. Though I have not used this yet, being somewhat shy of being stopped by a ticket inspector.
Got beeped on my way out of a shop the other day and was most embarassed, stupid sticky metallic things! (There was one hidden inside my DVDs and it set the alarms off) fortunately no harm done and I was not arrested haha. I have to see my doctor on Tuesday about this occupational health thing - I thought it was this Tuesday but apparently not and I spent Tuesday very tired for no good reason.
And now, I'm off, I want to watch my dvds again.
