Onions

2004-10-30 at 8:06 p.m.

Well once again I have left it for ages to update. And again I'm actually only online to do something for biology - this time looking up the classification of red onions. Which is extremely difficult, I'll have you know, as scientists not only cannot write, but cannot make plain websites either.

Grr. Well aside from that things have been going well. I handed in my lovely biology assignment on Tuesday and I think it went ok. We did experiments with onions, which were ok, if a bit smelly. And I managed to dye my hands purple. Had a nice chat with Lucian, a guy in the class - a very good-looking guy heh heh - and I might suggest we all start a study group next week. Then I'll get to know some more people and have people to ask if I get stuck on assignments.

Physics was not so difficult this week, probably because we are now doing circles rather than triangles. I can do circles. We're doing an experiment next week with springs, I must look up Hooke's law in preparation otherwise I'll be stuck, I think.

I've also been doing my UCAS form, and I do not remember it being this difficult before. The stupid online form won't let me put down one of the schools I went to because I have been to altogether too many places of study - two universities and two schools are not allowed, apparently. The system just isn't set up for mature students. Still never mind, I managed to find the names of all my examining boards for my GCSEs and A-Levels (what happened to EDEXCEL? Have they gone bust?) and I even managed to find my old UCAS number. Now all I need to do is persuade the university to give me a reference I can put on the online form (they want me to use the paper form) and I'm all set.

Bought a new computer game - Champions of Norrath, your standard sword-and-sorcery stuff, which I'm enjoying. Got a very snotty letter from Waterstones saying they have no jobs for me - from the tone you'd think I'd applied to be their managing director or something!

Um, I think thats about it. In any case my dinner is now ready so ta-ta for now.
