Another Interview!

Well, I have an interview tomorrow, to be a trainee librarian. In Barking. Or rather, quite some way from the station, and I'm going to have to get a Tube then a bus and hope I get there on time as the interview is at 11am. Which means I will probably get so paranoid that I arrive three hours early and have to loiter about in a suspicious manner. Never mind.

Another piece of good news is that I have been shortlisted for the job of the year - with a religious publisher. And no crap religious stuff either, Nouwen and good books, not the weird sugar-and-water evangelical stuff. So I just have to find their office, but they've sent me directions.

Not been doing much over the past couple of days. Reading books - murder mysteries mostly. Thats about it. Must go out somewhere and do something interesting soon.

Mum has made contact with her half-brother (who was not adopted). Apparently her birth father was a soldier called Sam who was killed in the war. Her mother thought that her husband had been killed, got together with this Sam who was going to marry her, then discovered that her husband had been captured by the Japanese. She ended up in a mental institution of some sort and gave up my mother and her sister for adoption. Mum is quite excited but dad doesn't think she should meet up with her natural family because he has heard bad stories of people who did, apparently. She's still thinking it over. But I have a cousin, called Rachel, who is a year younger than me, which is pretty cool. Mum's going to try to find out more about her natural father from the Imperial War Museum, as they've given us enough information to be able to find him, I think. She's not told my aunty yet though as apparently they think she'll go bananas about it.

In other news, I just read a rather interesting news story about a judge who has been accused of using a penis pump during trials! Heh.
