Otherwise, my days have been rather boring. I got a prescription done, had to go on two days because they never have the bloody moclobemide in stock. Bought my mother a collection of Cary Grant tapes because she is an inveterate fan of his. I grew up watching his films actually - which is probably why one of my favourite films as a child was Father Goose.
I have also bought vast amounts of books lately. I bought a book about vampires, a couple of crime books, a fantasy book by Jonathan Wylie (who wrote a weird, bizarre but interesting book about a musician). What else? I bought Cider with Rosie because we seem to have lost our copies. The other Adrian Mole book (you know, I have been haunted for years by the feeling I was turning into him...) I think thats it. Its my own fault, I went off to Charing Cross Road, which is where all the good bookshops and second hand bookshops are, and there is simply too much temptation.
I have a cold, too. I think the seasons have finally turned here in London. Its hard to tell because London has a climate all its own, but it was warmer today, and it smelled. Of pollution naturally because you don't get smells of grass or flowers in this place.
On the plus side I have managed to show Shirley the advantage of using the internet as a communications tool. She now knows how to use yahoo messenger, and can talk to me on it. Which is certainly timely as my mobile phone has decided that it hates her and is refusing to send any messages to her.
Actually Shirley might be coming down to London next week, which would be fun. Then she is definitely coming down over Easter and Neil is coming down sometime soon. So I go from being rather lonely and on my own to having lots of visitors!
With any luck, I will have a job to complement those visitors. Though not until after Shirley comes down as she is coming midweek, I hope.
Think thats about all. I need to go sneeze noisily into hankerchiefs myself. Bloody colds! Why can't someone invent a cure?!
