I got my tattoo!
Shirley went in first - and only yelped once (the big wimp). I got it done near my elbow on the top half of my arm - and I was really surprised, it didn't really hurt at all!
It was a weird feeling - sort of like when you bruise yourself on something sharp? I nearly fell asleep at one stage too. I was expecting to have to grit my teeth the whole way through but it was fine, really.
They sent me off with a bit of kitchen towel on my arm to soak up the blood (there wasn't much) and a leaflet. I have to put savlon on twice a day and not soak it in water for a week or so.
I think a scab has formed on it - at least there is a hard thing over it, but its black so it doesn't look like a scab! Doesn't itch...yet. I think I can deal with the itching though. It just feels like a little bruise at the moment, slightly achy if I move my arm too fast - but I suspect that is because the scab is pulling at the skin and the hairs on it. It looks a little icky though - the savlon dries into the scab so there is a white dusting over it! But I'm pleased - and if it heals with pale bits or anything goes wrong, they'll retouch for free, apparently.
I'm going to another tatooists with Gillian so she can look at the icthus she wants and see whether it'll hurt her.
I'm backdating this because I want to make a new entry for yesterday!
