applied for a house, went out boozing, got depressed again.

2003-05-16 at 10:43 p.m.

Hey there.

I'm actually writing this on the 17th, but changed the date because I'm going to talk about the 16th!

I stayed awake all night to make sure I was awake to go to the council offices. I met up with Shirley (after about five market researchers came up and bothered me) and we went along. They gave me a big form, and I've applied for a flat or house in the centre of town. It turns up you can request where you get put so you don't have to wind up in horrible places at all! The form was quite easy to fill out, even though Shirley wasn't much help as she was drooling over the guy at the desk and all. I did notice that they are a bit patronising to applicants though. But if I get a house, they can patronise me all they like! There's one going just a street from here actually. Its only £190 per month! I pay £340 now, and this is a one bedroom flat, and that one is a two bedroom one!!! If they put me through quickly I'll definitely go for that one!

Actually, even if I get kicked out of here before getting a council place, I have another option. I can always go into the mental hospital - I won't need to fake a crisis as if I end up effectively homeless I'll be having a crisis anyway.

Afterwards, we went up to the bar (as per usual) and went to ask Lynn to come and join us first. The church is moving in for their Assembly at the moment, so the place was full of random ministers and moving vans.

And also used condoms. Honestly.....ministers!

We bumped into Scary Betty on the way in. She'd just been refused a position as an auxiliary minister - thats when you do all the duties of a minister but don't get paid. She kept saying she could see God standing beside the committing waving his hands or something....she's weird.

Actually, its funny, Betty reckons God tells her things about all the students. She told Shirley God had told her she was having trouble with churches - which anyone who knows Shirley in the slightest knows anyway! Yet Betty has never seen anything about me....because no one knows. Some prophet she is!

After we finally disentagled ourselves from her, we went to see Lynn. She came along and we had quite a drink (she'd had a bad day).

I got depressed part way through though. I think its a reaction against the slightly high period I had earlier - what goes up must come down, after all.

Its a bit annoying though, because the Lamotrigine was supposed to even out my moods, to get rid of the high parts (unfortunately) but also get rid of the really depressed bits. It doesn't seem to be working - in fact I think it triggers them. I had taken the pills about half an hour or so and then got abnormally happy, a sort of mildly manic phase, then I took my second dose in the evening, and about half an hour later, hey presto I got really depressed.

Annoying.

Anyway, I was exhausted from being awake all night so we called it a day fairly early and I went home and fell asleep.
