This has been bothering me for ages. When I was at school the average height for a girl was 5'10". Now, I'm 5'8" so I was considered short.
Then, I left school, and moved first to London and then to Scotland.
The men are all tiny!!!
I feel like a giant here - so many men just come up to my shoulder, and the girls are the same! Its weird, going from being a short person to being considered particularly tall. And I'm not sure I like it.
I don't like it when a guy is shorter than me - men should be taller than me, I think. But its quite difficult to find a tall guy here! I think I'll have to move to the Highlands, the men are taller there.
I know a grand total of three men who are of normal height here - i.e. taller than me. And two of them are gay, which is a bit unfortunate from my point of view.
Why is it that, in Newcastle, people are tall, whereas here they are short? Could it be the water? Was the government pumping growth hormones into our drinking water or something? The North of England is hardly renowned for tall people, and everyone I knew came from there, so why were we so tall?
Its a bit of a bugger really, because I can't wear any heels at all here or I feel like a freak and absolutely tower over everyone.
Definitely I've got to find some more tall people, I'm sick of looking at the tops of people's heads - dandruff is not attractive! Its quite hard to fancy someone whose face you can't really see because they're so small.
Grrrr. Bring back the tall people, I say.
